*This is a Work Experience (work-based learning) position available through Workforce Solutions Coastal Bend. All candidates will be considered after program eligibility is determined.



Tire Repair

Job Description

Employees will be trained to do the following thru the Youth Program

  • Raise vehicles, using hydraulic jacks
  • Remount wheels onto vehicles
  • Unbolt and remove wheels from vehicles, using lug wrenches or other hand or power tools
  • Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels
  • Identify tire size and ply and inflate tires accordingly

Work Activities -Work Experience Participants will be trained in the following:

  • Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Materials — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
