*This is a Work Experience (work-based learning) position available through Workforce Solutions Coastal Bend. All candidates will be considered after program eligibility is determined.
Auto Tech Helper: Assist in detecting and diagnose faults in engines and parts.
· Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and check parts.
· Assist mechanic with repairing and replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components and refer to service manuals as needed.
· Assist with perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
· Assist with reassemble engines and parts after being repaired.
· Test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance, diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers.
Considerations: Positions may require driving and working outdoor elements.
